Ready to begin your new life, you take your first step off the dirt road into the grassy plains. It is time to find yourself.
Your mind is stronger. You feel your will power is above even the gods. You stride proudly in the tall grass. You drop your school bag and empty yourself of your other possesstions. You feel light. Your body seems to wave in the wind like the long blades of grass beneath you. You are happy. You feel satisfied. No one is tying you down. Nothing is restricting your actions. You can do anything here.
Right as you think that you trip on a rock and plant your face into the earth. You look up and realize the area around you is fenced off. Additionally there is a herd of cow nearby. How did you not notice this before? You get up, clawing at the grass attempting to hoist yourself from the earth. Right as your foot finds support, a rough faced man grabs you by the hair and forcefully drags you out of the tall grass. Screaming in defiance, you violently try to shake the man's grasp from your hair but he is too strong. You choke on some saliva as you scream triggering your gag reflex and ensuing harsh coughs that obliterate your throat.
The man stops suddenly and releases your hair. You cannot move, too exhausted from struggling in his grasp. Seconds later you blurrily see him above you, pointing something at your head, a weapon perhaps. Through your clouded vision, you see his eyes behind the object. They are cold, lifeless, bloodshot eyes that pierce your incompetent vision. Within a moment you observe him raising the weapon above you, it's bladed edge now visible. It doesn't even seem like you are in your own body anymore. You can no longer feel the pain from the distance you had traveled with the man. When he impales you with the blade you don't even know it has happened. In fact your conscience is still there. You lift from the now limp body and seem to go no where.
You live the rest of your 'life' as a ghost. But you feel empty inside, there is nobody to haunt but yourself. It seems a new life is not for you.
